18 September 2025

We are proud to share that Royal Oak Distillery, part of the Illva Saronno Holding family, has officially joined Origin Green, Ireland’s national sustainability programme for the food & beverage sector, managed by Bord Bia.

This certification is an important recognition of the distillery’s commitment to increasingly sustainable and environmentally responsible production.

Through Origin Green, Royal Oak Distillery has adopted a verified sustainability plan with concrete and measurable goals in key areas such as:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Reduction of water usage
  • Waste minimization
  • Biodiversity enhancement

All targets are independently monitored and meet national and international standards, fully reflecting Illva Saronno Holding’s sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote transparency throughout the entire production chain.

Being part of Origin Green strengthens Royal Oak Distillery’s reputation as a responsible producer and provides a competitive advantage in international markets, where sustainability is increasingly a key purchasing criterion.

Moreover, this membership creates new commercial opportunities with international partners and buyers who prioritize traceability, environmental management, and social responsibility—further supporting Ireland’s positioning as a global leader in sustainable food and drink production.

This is a major step forward not only for Royal Oak Distillery, but also for the entire Illva Saronno Holding, which continues to invest with determination in a more sustainable, transparent, and innovative future.
